Anthony Taberna, who is a journalist and a reporter of ABS-CBN has denied that he has posted anything opposing President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Facebook that has since become viral.
The reporter, also known as Ka Tonying, said that he has not posted anything that would destroy the president as he has voted for him in the last elections. He said that he is, in fact, aware and grateful of the achievements of the current administration.
However, he is also aware that there are blind supporters of the president. But he reiterated that he is not one of these blind supporters. He said that he is not blind to the improper actions of the Duterte, especially on his choice of words. He added that as the top-ranking official of the country, he should act like one. He should refrain from acting as if he is only a barangay captain or a thug.
Taberna also said that he and the millions of people who supported the President have the right to reprimand the President – contrary to beliefs that only the “Dilaws” or Yellow Supporters and other former officials have the right to criticize him.
He said in Filipino that he would not get tired of pointing out that he only has one Facebook account. In this official account, the primary photo is that of him and his wife while the cover photo it that of him and his family and relatives. The said official profile also has at least 500,000 likes.
The reporter also reiterated that he only has one Instagram account @iamtunying28 with at least 140,000 followers and one Twitter account @tunyings_kaindo.
Thus, other pages and profiles that do not show such characteristics is not of his owning and is not connected to him in any way.
With that, netizens should be more careful with concluding and believing such posts.
