The former beauty queen returned to the Philippines earlier this month as one of the judges in the recently concluded Miss Universe 2017.

After stepping down from her post and turning over the crown to Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen, Dayanara Torres won the hearts of the Filipinos as a celebrity in the Philippines. She was able to land several roles in movies and appearance in television shows on top of her endorsement deals.

She appeared in several Filipino movies, and even became a household name because of her stint on ASAP Mania. Her dancing skills also earned her the informal title of “Dancing Queen”.

Dayanara Torres also had a four-year relationship with Filipino actor and former heartthrob, Aga Muhlach, with whom she also starred in the hit movie Basta’s Kasama Kita. She also starred in movies with Cesar Montano and Gary Valenciano among others. Her last movie in the Philippines was a romantic comedy back in 1994 with Cesar Montano. It was called “Type Kita, Walang Kokontra”.

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Jeff Fernando, Dayanara Torres said that being back in ABS-CBN also brought back a lot of memories. She is also enjoying seeing people whom she has not seen in years.

“Super mas masaya ako to be back here in the Philippines. It’s my second home. I’m able to enjoy this country that I love so much. Thank you for embracing me again as your own like you’ve always done.” – Dayanara Torres, on being back in the Philippines.
