Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald dela Rosa revealed that the final narco-list set to be released within the week contains names of celebrities, alongside judges and public officials.
“Marami du’n mga fiscal, judges. Mga artista, kasama dun sa listahan (There are many judges, prosecutors in the list. There are also celebrities.),” dela Rosa said.
Incoming Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Martin Diño was quoted by GMA News saying that at least 50 names of celebrities have been included in the list. However, some of these celebrities have already taken drug tests.
It can be recalled that the PNP chief earlier revealed that 12 celebrities are included in the so-called celebrity list. However, at that time, the names were still being validated. Dela Rosa did not mention if the number has changed or not.
Dela Rosa also said that some of the celebrities have already called him regarding the matter. He said these celebrities are hopeful that their names will be cleared.
Just days ago, celebrities Mark Anthony Fernandez, starlet Krista Miller and partner Aaron Medina, print models Jem Milton and Liaa Bolla and three other unnamed men were arrested in different operations.
On the other hand, Dela Rosa claimed that the supply of illegal drugs in the Philippines has decreased by around 70-80%.
“Mga nasa 70 to 80% sa ngayon ang nabawas. Marami tayong mga shabu lab na nadiskubre. Nahinto ang operation at ang pagpasok, nahirapan sila (About 70 to 80% had been decreased. We discovered shabu labs and were able to stop the entry and operations of drug suspects.),” explained dela Rosa.
On different news, Dela Rosa expressed his sentiments with regard to the idea of implementing Oplan Tokhang for cops who are allegedly involved in the illegal drugs trade.
He said that he wishes such idea will materialize so that the drug problem in the country will be solved. He added that some of those who committeed to serve and protect the country are actually members of syndicates.
“I wish we can (apply Tokhang to policemen) but it is illegal. How I wish,” ABS-CBN quoted him.
