The old man who was bathed by policemen and being cared for by members of the Liloy Municipal Police Station has found his way home.
On September 14, Dominggo Jumawan, 74 years old, was turned over by the Liloy MPS to his daughter Rica Jumawan Ajero in Bucana, Sicayab, Dipolog City.
The turnover was spearheaded by PCI Rolando H. Barraquio in cooperation with MSWD and Barangay Captain Villa C. Sudiacal.
Before the turnover, kindhearted citizens also extended their help and gave tatay Dominggo some food and clothing.
It can be recalled that a video has taken Facebook and the entire online world by storm. It shows an old man being bathe by a policeman.
The video was uploaded by Liloy Mps Znppo and showed an old man who is Dominggo being given a bath by SPO2 Maximo Canico and SPO4 Jose Roel Sanchez.
Based on previous reports, tatay Dominggo allegedly abandoned by his children due to unknown reasons.
Both Canico and Sanchez took care of the old man, giving him a refreshing bath and clothing him in clean garments.
According to Liloy MPS, they posted the video in the hopes that they would find the old man’s family.
“Ito po si Tatay Romie Jumawan ang kanyang mga anak ay sina Roberto/Rebecca Jumawan na taga Sicayab, Dipolog City… wala na pong nag aalaga kay Tatay paki share na lang po para makaabot sa kanyang pamilya para makuha na siya sa Liloy Municipal Police Station,” the Liloy MPS posted.
The video has at least 698,000 views and 18,447 shares.
The entire Liloy MPS team was applauded by netizens for the good deed they have done to tatay Dominggo.
One of the comments states: “thank you for your good works I salute all of you police in Liloy Hindi ninyo pinabayaan c lolo pinapaligoan at hinatid nyo pa kahit medyo malayo, malalasakit sa kapwa ito ang tunay na pagbabago sirbisyong totoo, Sana po tuloy tuloy ang pagmamalasakit sa atin bayan, nakakapataba ng puso, mabuhay po kayo!!!! proud to be part of Liloy [sic]”
